April Meeting Prep

Think about the future and what information or data we going to want in order to review this entire process.
For instance, Bob said that we will want to ask teachers: Are the rubrics working for your class? What needs to be changed on the rubrics themselves?

What other information will we need in order to evaluate the process?

Core Values

The core values of an organization are those values we hold which form the foundation on which we perform work and conduct ourselves. In an ever-changing world, core values are constant. Core values are not descriptions of the work we do. The values underlie our work.

The faculty and the SCC have come up with a list of values:
·         Responsibility
·         Accountability
·         Respect
·         Independence
·         Scholarship
·         Integrity/Honesty
·         Confidence
·         Compassion/Empathy
·         Resiliency
·         Citizenship
·         Safety
·         Academic Excellence
·         Fairness
·         Inclusion
·         Morality
·         Sustainability
·         Collaboration
·         Personalization
·         Global Awareness
Are there core values at PRHS that you would like to add to the list?

The next step is to pare the list down to the basic values that will be our foundation.

What the SCC is...

The School Board of the Pemi-Baker School District has established the School Community Council (SCC).

The representation on the SCC will promote well thought out proposals and innovative ideas that may lead to positive change and progress in our school. Focusing on several issues at once with the involvement of all stakeholders will save time and effort. Stakeholders will see that the reward for participation is problem solving and that improving the learning environment is the goal for the entire school community.

The Pemi-Baker Regional High School has embarked upon a process of collaborative decision making that will encourage greater participation, in education and in related decisions, by all stakeholders. Through collaboration, consensus building, open communications, mutual trust and an ability to problem solve, the members of the school community will jointly explore changes in structures and procedures that will facilitate the following goals:
Improve the quality of education by:
  • Including within the decision making process teachers and school/community members.
  • Listening to the needs of parents and students.
  • Improving the learning environment of all students.
  • Improving the working environment.
